Uvongo Beach, located in the popular holiday town of Uvongo near Margate, is a beautiful sheltered subtropical beach with a waterfall that cascades into the lagoon. It is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on KwaZulu-Natal’s Hibiscus Coast.
Uvongo, named after the Ivungu River, is famous for its 23m waterfall that plunges into the lagoon, making it one of the deepest lagoons in the country. The beach is popular for swimming, snorkeling, body boarding, surfing, jogging, canoeing, boating, romantic strolls, and exploring the rock pools. With top-notch facilities, lifeguards on duty in season, pedal boat rentals, a kids’ paddling pool, and shark nets, Uvongo Beach is a safe and fun place for the whole family.
