St Micheal’s Beach
This flourishing beach located on the South coast of Kwazulu-Natal, is perfect for family beach days, it has clear waters that are safe for all ages, the golden sand is lovely for building sand castles and making mermaid tails and the tidal pool is great for the kiddies! It’s a rather small beach but what this beach lacks in size it makes up for in diverting activities!
St Michael’s Beach is extremely popular with the local and foreign surfers of all ages because of its beautiful waves and intricate formation. Varying surfing lessons are available at this beach which makes it an ideal destination for a fun family activity for both south coast residents and visitors! Large parking areas are very convenient, especially during the busy holiday season. They built a big parking lot so that you don’t have to worry about not being able to find a space to park in. Because of all this space it’s easy for the beach to become very messy and untidy, however, that problem will not affect this diverse destination because of Tidy Towns.
The local community group Tidy Towns Shelly to Margate keeps this beach clean from litter and trash all throughout the year, This community group is beneficial to our environment and our local community. Due to our beach and the surrounding area being spotless, you can enjoy a good braai, knowing the space is well kept. The braai area close to the beach is excellent for a Sunday picnic, with a large green field to sit and play in and a beautiful tree close by to provide some shade for everyone to enjoy, there’s nothing more perfect and the security patrolling the area constantly makes this beach considerably safe as well, you can come with your family and loved ones to visit St. Mikes with ease knowing that it is safe.
C-Bali is a restaurant and bar on St. Michael’s beachfront. Their delicious seafood meals and mouth-watering cocktails will make you want to come back for a second visit. You won’t regret coming to this beach on those hot sunny days. Speaking of sunny days, if you are looking for a lovely beachside walk, St Michaels has the perfect solution for you.
There is a lovely nature trail that goes from St. Mikes Beach through Orange Rocks and ends at Uvongo, with astonishing views and an abundance of fresh salty air.
On this trail, you stand a chance to see some local wildlife and get to know some residents of the town. The sound of the waves crashing next to you will help you to relax and let go while on this trail walk. The Park Run is an event every Saturday morning when the townsfolk gather at the start of this trail and follow it in either a walk, jog or run, This is an amazing experience where locals bond on a beautiful trail and get some easy exercise in.
